Jarry Clears Waivers, Assigned to WBS

Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry recently cleared waivers and has been assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the team’s AHL affiliate. This move comes after Jarry struggled with his performance this season, including allowing goals on opponents’ first shots multiple times.

Jarry, who signed a five-year, $26.8 million extension in 2023, has a cap hit of $5.38 million. The Penguins have promoted rookie Joel Blomqvist to join Alex Nedeljkovic as the NHL team’s goaltending tandem.

Penguins’ general manager Kyle Dubas mentioned that this decision is in the best interest of both the team and Jarry, allowing Blomqvist to have a chance at the NHL level.
