We’re Back! From the Point is Open for Business

Good evening everyone! I heard you missed us…we’re back!

(The photo above features a look at what our front page looked like back on launch day – March 5, 2010)

In actuality we didn’t actually go anywhere. In fact, we’ve spent the past many years doing a little bit of everything. I went from working for outlets like Hockey Buzz and Versus (then the league’s main TV rights holder) to writing for NHL.com, the Beaver County Times and others, while at the same time growing my presence on local radio.

That all culminated in a gig (my current role) with the Penguins Radio Network.

While juggling all of the aforementioned things over the past 20 years, I haven’t been quite as active here as I would have liked. Some of that is my fault and some of it isn’t.

Sadly, this website, which I launched back on March 5, 2010 has been lacking for quite sometime. Some of that inactivity came while I was writing so much for other outlets, but the recent downtime has been due in large part to many technical issues with the website!

First a virus shut us down for almost a year. That situation was resolved and before we knew it the site was hacked again and rendered inoperable. Thankfully my guy Ryan Lenocker got things fixed up and ready for action about six weeks ago.

Overall, the site has been down for parts of the past four seasons, but thankfully all of that is behind us and the site will be active again.

My main role covering hockey will of course be the Penguins Radio Network but this will again be my official online home. I will still be freelancing for outlets as the opportunities come up – if you need me, drop a note – but most of my writing will be here. I will be writing about the Penguins and NHL as always but you’ll likely find musings on a number of things that I like and do. I will likely start to include some of my photography as well as news and info on our bee farm and the work we do raising Monarch Butterflies during the summer and fall months.

Those of you who used to follow my writings – I hope you will do so again! For anyone new – welcome! I look forward to interacting with you in a slightly different way than I have been over the past few years.
